Palestinian officials describe Fatah-Hamas talks Fruitful, positive

RAMALLAH, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Thursday the government is following with a great interest current positive dialogue between Fatah and Hamas in Istanbul, which gives hope in reaching the desired results and having successful general elections.
He said in a statement said successful elections would pave way for a revival of democracy and fostering national unity.
A member of Fatah Central Committee Hussain Al-Sheikh said in a tweet the dialogue constitutes an important step for reconciliation, partnership and unity of the Palestinian position in the face of bids to "liquidating Palestinian cause." The delegation of Fatah which has been in Turkey for two days holding dialogues with Hamas delegation, will head tonight to Doha and then to Cairo, which has led reconciliation efforts since Hamas took control of Gaza Strip.
The meetings between both delegations began Tuesday. Fatah delegation is headed by the Secretary of the Central Committee, Jibril Rajoub, and Hamas delegation is headed by the deputy head of Hamas Political Bureau Saleh Al-Arouri.(end) nq.gaa
