Arab states refuse Israel's participation in IAEA conf.

VIENNA, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- at least 14 Arab states, members in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed refusal to Israel's participation in the agency's 64th annual conference, held in the UN's headquarters in Vienna since last Monday.
In a memorandum handed to the conference's general secretariat on Thursday and received by KUNA, the Arab states said that the documents of the Israeli representatives were issued in Jerusalem, which is considered an occupied city by the international law.
Any administrative procedures taken or documents issued after the occupation are illegal according the UN's General Assembly, the memorandum said.
The 14 Arab states are: Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Syria, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen and Djibouti.
The conference, concluding on Friday, is attended by fewer delegations than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the IAEA is recording daily coronavirus cases among its employees. (end) amq.ag
