India reports 1,133 COVID-19 deaths, 92,605 fresh positive cases

NEW DELHI, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Indian health authorities announced on Sunday that 1,133 people died due to COVID-19 while 92,605 positive cases were reported from across the country in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the death toll due to coronavirus in the country rose to 86,752 while the total number of positive cases jumped to 5,400,619.
The health ministry said that 4,303,043 people recovered from the pandemic as it spread to 35 Indian states.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Bihar, Telangana and Assam are the worst hit Indian states.
Recently, the government issued new guidelines for the fourth phase of unlock under which metro trains will be allowed to resume services in a graded manner.
The new guidelines also relaxed political, social and religious gatherings. However, schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will remain closed along with cinema halls, swimming pools, theatres and other similar places.
Restrictions imposed on containment zones will also remain operational until another notice. (end) atk.bs
