KUWAIT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Jabri said on Friday that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's different unforgettable feats had earned him numerous international decorations.
US President Donald Trump's honoring of His Highness the Amir adds a fresh award to a set of his humanitarian, diplomatic and political decorations and promotes Kuwait's international status, the minister said on twitter.
He added that His Highness the Amir has worked hard over decades to establish the name of Kuwait internationally through immortal works that have been translated by global organizations into international decorations.
US President Donald Trump earlier Friday awarded the Legion of Merit, Degree Chief Commander, to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the White House announced.
"A leader in the Middle East for decades, (HH) the Amir has been a truly unwavering friend and partner to the United States," the White House said in a statement.
It added that His Highness the Amir "provided indispensable support to the United States throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Defeat-(IS) campaign."
