Kuwait Covid-19 cases rise by 704 to 98,528, deaths by five

KUWAIT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's confirmed coronavirus cases increased by 704 to 98,528 with five people having succumbed to the disease raising the death toll to 580 in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Friday.
The figures include people, who have come into contact with infected individuals, and others whose source of infection is currently being investigated, read a ministry statement.
In terms of health zones, 195 cases were reported in Hawalli, 165 in Al-Ahmadi, 134 in Farwaniyah, 111 in the Capital, and 99 in Jahra, added the official.
There are 101 people currently receiving intensive care for the virus out of a total 9,172 patients being hospitalised.
Some 5,928 swab tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, out of a total of 701,484 so far, added the spokesman.
Earlier, the ministry said 865 people have recovered from the virus, upping the total number of those to have overcome the disease to 88,776. (pickup previous) mak.sd
