NEW DELHI, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Indian health authorities said on Friday that 1,117 people died of coronavirus while 96,424 tested positive across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 84,372 while the tally of positive cases spiked to 5,214,677.
The health ministry said some 4,112,551 people have recovered from the pandemic as it spread to 35 Indian states.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Bihar, Telangana and Assam are the worst hit Indian states. (end)
