Egypt's Pres. underlines importance of resuming Palestinian-Israeli talks

CAIRO, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi Thursday affirmed on the necessity of pushing ahead international action at the present time so as to resume talks between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
This came during a meeting between Al-Sisi and President of World Jewish Congress (WJC) Ronald Lauder, Egypt's presidency spokesman Bassam Radhi said in a statement.
Al-Sisi stressed the need of the talks between the Palestinian and Israeli to reach a fair and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the international references, Radhi added.
Al-Sisi said that Egypt and the US have strategic relations, stressing the importance of bolstering mutual cooperation in all fields, in light of challenges facing the region that require further coordination and regular consultation between the two countries, he noted.
These consultation and coordination seek to push efforts to reach peaceful solutions to the crises in the region, in addition to combat terrorism and extremist thought, Radhi pointed out.
Meanwhile, Lauder extolled, in a statement, the distinguished ties between Egypt and the US on all levels.
He praised Egypt's role in establishing peace and stability in the Middle East region, and combating terror and extremist thought, according the statement.
In addition, Lauder appreciated Al-Sisi's efforts in boosting tolerance, peace and peaceful coexistence. (end) aff.hm
