Kuwait’s Agility posts KD 16.2 mln in first-half net profit

KUWAIT, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Agility, one of the largest Gulf logistics firms, reported on Saturday a net profit of KD 16.2 million (USD 53 million) for the first half of this year, a 61.3 percent decline compared to the same period a year earlier.
Earnings-per-share were worth 8.47 fils in the first half of 2020, as compared to 21.89 fils last year, Agility Vice Chairman and CEO Tarek Sultan said in a statement, adding that operating profit stood at KD 75.8 million (USD 247.6 million) in the same time period, which is a 20.1 percent drop from the figure posted in 2019.
Revenue for the first half was worth KD 765 million (USD 2.5 billion), he revealed, saying that the company had taken several measures to help limit the economic damage from the coronavirus pandemic. (end) md.nam
