Arab coalition forces intercept two ballistic missiles from Yemen

JEDDAH, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- The Saudi-led coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen said Thursday its air defense forces foiled missile and drone attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
The terrorist Houthi militias fired two ballistic missiles and flew an explosive-laden drone towards Khamis Mashit in southern Saudi Arabia but the air defense forces of the coalition managed to intercept and destroy them, Spokesman of the Command of the Coalition Col. Staff Turki Al-Maliki said in a press release.
The terrorist militias persist in attacking civilian targets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a flagrant violation of the international humanitarian law, according to the statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The repeated attacks of the Houthi terrorists pose a grave threat to the regional and international security, and undermine the efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis of Yemen, the statement underscored.
Col. Staff Turki Al-Maliki affirmed the resolve of the coalition to respond firmly to the Houthis' systematic acts of terrorism and protect the safety of civilian lives in conformity with the provisions of the international law. (end) nsa.gb
