Coronavirus-hit nations update tallies

KUWAIT, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- Governments announced their latest coronavirus updates on Wednesday as nations continue to battle the impacts of the deadly pandemic.
Spain's cases rose by 1,690 to 329,784, the health ministry said on Wednesday.
No virus-induced deaths were reported, with the toll revised to 28,579.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao are the latest La Liga clubs to have announced positive cases. A total of seven players were tested positive after Atletico Madrid on Sunday revealed that two were infected.
Greece registered 262 cases, the highest tally in a week, according to official figures.
The tally now climbs to 6,177 as the virus-related death toll rose by two to 216, ANA-MPA quoted health authorities as saying.
In Lebanon, cases increased by 292 to 7,413, the health ministry said.
Some two virus-induced deaths were also reported, raising the toll to 89, the ministry said at its daily briefing.
Meanwhile, 2,407 people were cured of the virus.
Travellers from countries with high infection rates will now have to administer a PCR test ahead of their arrival in the country.
Tunisian health authorities said cases rose by 42 to 1,780.
Neighbouring Morocco said cases surged by 1,499 to 36,494.
The health ministry also said that virus-induced deaths increased by 23 to 556.
It added that 292 people were cured from the virus, raising the total to 25,677 Turkey reported 18 virus-induced deaths, adding to a total of 5,891.
Furthermore, cases increased by 1,212 to 244,392, according to the health ministry.
Mauritania said its cases increased by 24 to 6,622.
No deaths were registered on the day as the toll remains unchanged at 157, the health ministry said at a press briefing.
Meanwhile, some 37 people have been cured of the virus, raising the total to 5,741.
Yemen recorded 10 cases and five deaths resulting from the virus.
The case tally has grown to 1,841 as the death toll has risen to 528 in regions administered by the internationally-recognised government.
The total number of recoveries, on the other hand, rose to 919 with another 24 reported. (end) kt.sd
