Arab Media Forum launches Lebanon support campaign

KUWAIT, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- Arab Media Forum Authority launched on Wednesday, in cooperation with the Arab League, the largest online youth rally for humanity, themed "An Initiative For Lebanon," with participation of over 300 people from 19 Arab countries.
Sheikh Hessa Al-Thani, Special Envoy of the Arab League Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, said Lebanese deserved a "serious stance" from the world "which made us support it in these difficult circumstances in a serious and effective manner." She hoped the partnerships through initiatives be reality on the ground in Lebanon.
Sheikha Suhaila Al-Sabah, honorary president of disabled club, called for helping the Lebanese people in their crisis and said she was confident the youth could make a difference in Lebanon.
Arab Media Forum Authority Secretary General Madhi Al-Khamees the Lebanese people were in dire need of help following last Tuesday's massive blast at Beirut Port which killed at least 171 people and injured over 6,000 others.
He said volunteering groups could be active partners for governments to contribute to social development.
Participants called for establishing a Kuwait-based charity organization to help the Lebanese people. (pickup previous) fz.bs
