Egypt condemns Turkey's attack on Iraq military vehicle

CAIRO, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- Egypt on Wednesday denounced a recent Turkish drone attack on an Iraqi Border Guard vehicle at a border area in northern Iraq, killing several Iraqi soldiers.
"This is an unacceptable breach of Iraq's sovereignty and a fresh threat to regional security and stability," the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement.
It reiterated Egypt's support for Iraq's efforts to face these provocative practices, while stressing that the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Iraq must be respected.
The ministry also voiced sincere condolence to the victims' families and the Iraqi army, according to the statement.
Earlier in the day, the Arab League and Arab Parliament deplored the Turkish attack as a violation of Iraq's sovereignty. (end) aff.mt
