Arab League, Arab Parliament condemn Turkey's attack on Iraq

CAIRO, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit condemned Wednesday Turkey's repeated violations of Iraq's sovereignty.
Abul Gheit denounced in the strong terms Turkey's attack of a common border area with Iraq killing two armed forces officers, a soldier and a number of innocent civilians.
"This is a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty, the international law and good neighborliness," he said.
The Arab League supports any action taken by the Iraqi government to stop Turkey's repeated military attacks.
Arab Parliament president Mishal Al-Salmi also condemned the Turkish attack and said Ankara failed "to respect relations with its neighbor." (end) mfm.bs
