BRUSSELS, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- For the week between 5-11 August, 4,036 new individuals were reported who tested positive for COVID-19, in the Netherlands increasing the total number of coronavirus cases to 59,973 in the country.
Nine confirmed COVID-19 patients were reported dead during the same period increasing the total death toll to 6,159 from coronavirus.
These figures were released by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment on Tuesday.
It noted that half of all reported COVID-19 positive are 55 years of age or older. Half of the admitted patients in hospitals are 69 years or older and of those who died half of the patients were 83 years or older.
The Institute publishes only a weekly update of coronavirus cases in the Netherlands on Tuesdays and not daily updates. (end)
