Kuwait: 682 new coronavirus cases plus 2 deaths

By Mohammad Al-Kandari KUWAIT, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced on Friday recording 682 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) during past 24 hours.
It also reported that whole count of the contaminations with the germ hit 70,727. Meanwhile, there were two deaths with the contagion, thus whole count of the fatalities with the pandemic reached 471.
Official spokesperson of the MoH Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA that some of the cases had gotten the virus from infected persons however source of infection for the other cases remained anonymous.
The new tally of the infection cases included 461 ones of Kuwaiti nationals and 221 of non Kuwaitis.
Dr. Al-Sanad said the cases were recorded according to health zones as following: 176 in Al-Ahmadi, 152 in Al-Farwaniya, 130 in Al-Jahraa, 118 in Hawally and 105 in the capital.
He also revealed that 124 patients continued to receive medical care, thus the caseload of such cases stood at 7,926.
Up to 4,086 swab tests were conducted, during the past 24 hours, with the total count of such examinations reaching 526,286.
Dr. Al-Sanad re-appealed to citizens and residents of the country to remain vigilant against the contagious disease and take all necessary precautions to protect themselves against infection.
The Kuwaiti MoH earlier today declared that 720 of the germ infected patients were cured of the contamination, with the whole number of recoveries standing at 62,330. (end) mak.rk
