KUWAIT, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- The Chinese authorities announced Thursday 37 new cases of infection with the coronavirus (COVID- 19) virus, including 30 cases of local infection, while no deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours.
This brings the total number of infections in the Chinese mainland to 84,528 people, and the total number of deaths stands at 4,634 people, the Xinhua news agency quoted the National Health Commission as saying.
Xinhua indicated that 10 people left the hospitals during the past 24 hours after their recovery, bringing the total number of people recovered since the virus appeared to 79,057 people. There are 837 people still receiving treatment. (end)
