UAE confirms 164 more Covid-19 cases

ABU DHABI, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- The UAE Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 164 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) over the last 24 hours.
The latest figures bring this Gulf country's overall count of confirmed infections with the infectious respiratory illness to 61,163 so far, the ministry said in a press statement.
It also confirmed that zero fatalities due to the viral disease, keeping the UAE's death toll at 351, according to the statement, carried by the country's official news agenc (WAM).
The latest cases were confirmed as more than 27,000 new Covid-19 swab tests were conducted for citizens and residents, using sophisticated testing devices, it added, it said.
A total of 248 more patients also recovered from the deadly virus, raising the country's total count of recoveries to 54,863, it said. (end) bsu.mt
