KUWAIT, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- Some 1,230 impoverished families were the beneficiaries of a national endeavor to distribute meat to the local community, as per Islamic tradition amid the Eid holiday, Kuwait’s food bank said on Monday.
The families, whose woes have been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic, were ecstatic to have been the recipients of such gracious aid, the bankآ’s Vice Chairman Mishal Al-Ansari told reporters.
These altruistic deeds are all the more meaningful especially in the midst of these trying times, he added. (end) zak.nam
