KUWAIT, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- The global confirmed coronavirus cases topped 18 million Monday as the US and Brazil rank first and second in the number of cases and deaths.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the confirmed cases worldwide reached 18,082,616 and 689,428 deaths.
This comes as the US recorded 47,511 new cases in the past 24 hours and 413 deaths, the tally showed as the confirmed cases nationwide reached at leastآ 4,667,955 and 154,860 reported deaths.
Meanwhile, Brazil's health ministry reported 25,800 new cases in the past 24 hours and 541 deaths, bringing the country's total cases to 2,733,677 and 94,104 deaths. (end)
