NASA astronauts make first water landing in 45 years

KUWAIT, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- SpaceX Dragon Capsule astronauts splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday making it the first water landing since for astronauts since 1975, media reported.
NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley returned home from the International Space Station in an 18-hour flight to Earth ending a 65-day test flight aboard a private company's spacecraft.
Their successful splashdown off the coast of Pensacola in Florida was considered "the most dangerous leg of the journey".
For its part, mission controller radioed to the crew "on behalf of the SpaceX and NASA teams, welcome home and thanks for flying SpaceX." Furthermore, President Donald Trump tweeted "astronauts complete first splashdown in 45 years. Very exciting." He said in a separate tweet "great to have NASA Astronauts return to Earth after very successful two month mission. Thank you to all." (end) si.bs
