Kuwait confirms 687 new Covid-19 cases, four fatalities

KUWAIT, July 23 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said Thursday 687 new Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections were confirmed over the past 24 hours, taking the count of cases up to 61,872.
The ministry also recorded four more deaths due to the viral infection, bringing the country's death toll to 421 so far, the ministry's Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA.
In addition, 9,204 virus patients were still receiving necessary medical treatment, including 124 cases in intensive care units, Dr. Al-Sanad pointed out.
Medical teams carried out 3,808 Covid-19 tests over the last 24 hours, bringing the total count of swab tests to 474,808 since the outbreak of the virus in the country, he added.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Health said 727 patients recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic in the past 24 hours to raise total recoveries to 52,247. (Pick up previous) mak.mt
