Greece reports 36 new coronavirus cases, two deaths

KUWAIT, July 21 (KUNA) -- Greece's National Organization of Public Health announced on Tuesday that 36 new people tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and two patients succumbed to it in the last 24 hours.
This raised the total infections and mortalities to 4,048 and 197 respectively, Greece news agency quoted in a statement the organization as saying.
Among the infected were 1,118 who returned home from abroad and 2,059 others who had close contact with those diagnosed with the virus in the country, it noted.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias said the country received about 918,000 tourists from July1 until July 19.
The number of infections from abroad during the same period rose to 295, he said, noting that Serbians came first in terms of the positive cases. (end) rs.hm
