Pakistan's COVID-19 tally reaches 251,625

ISLAMABAD, July 13 (KUNA) -- The number of total coronavirus infection cases across Pakistan have surged to 251,625 as the country reports 2,769 new cases in the last 24 hours, said health authorities Monday.
According to Pakistan's National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 2,769 new coronavirus infection cases were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 251,625.
These includes 105,533 cases in southern Sindh province, 87,043 cases in eastern Punjab province, 30,486 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 11,185 in Balochistan province, 14,108 in federal capital Islamabad, 1,671 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan region and 1,599 in Pakistan administered Kashmir.
The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 5,266 so far where 69 deaths were reported during the last 24 hours. NCOC has confirmed that at least 161,917 patients have recovered from the virus infection across the country.
Meanwhile, Afghan Ministry of Public Health has confirmed that the tally of COVID-19 infections has reached 34,451 across Afghanistan.
Afghan capital city Kabul has reported most cases with 13,929 so far while western Herat province reports 5,190 cases.
Up to 1,764 positive cases were reported in Balkh province, 1,367 in Nangarhar province, 1,330 in Kandahar and 1,139 in Paktia province.
The death toll due to the virus across Afghanistan stands at 1,010 where at least 21,216 people have recovered from the disease so far. (end) sbk.bs
