Luxembourg: 65 more cases of coronavirus

BRUSSELS, July 11 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Health in Luxembourg on Saturday reported 65 new coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, raising the country's total to 4,842.
No further death from Covid-19 was reported and the death toll remains at 110, the ministry said in its latest update.
Meanwhile, citizens of Luxembourg have been banned by several European countries including Denmark, Norway and the Baltic states from entering, local media reported.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn told the RTL Radio that the government is fighting accusations from other countries because the numbers of coronavirus cases, if considered out of context, do not reflect the real situation.
Asselborn explained that Luxembourg's recent infection numbers must be viewed in the context of the large-scale testing strategy. In other words, the more tests a country carries out, the more positive cases it will detect.
He stated that there are currently no signs that any of Luxembourg's neighbouring countries like Belgium are planning to close their borders again. (end) nk.mt
