Covid-19 kills 78 more people, sickens 2,848 others in Iraq

BAGHDA, July 10 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Health on Friday recorded 78 additional fatalities due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), taking the country's death toll to 2960.
In a press statement, the ministry also reported 2,848 more cases of the infectious respiratory illness, raising Iraq's overall count of confirmed infections to 72,460.
The Iraqi capital of Baghdad had the highest tally of deaths and infections; 977 and 19 respectively, the ministry said, adding that 1,878 more patients had recovered from the deadly bug. (end) ahh.mt
