Pompeo thanks Jordan for medical supplies sent to US - State Dept.

KUWAIT, July 9 (KUNA) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke Thursday with King Abdullah II of Jordan during which he thanked him for Jordan's "generosity in sending medical supplies to the United States." State Department Spokesperson Morgan Oratgus said in a statement that Pompeo "underscored the importance of steadfast partnership during the COVID-19 pandemic." The US top diplomat also reaffirmed the "strength" of the bilateral relationship as the two also discussed "several matters of mutual interest, including developments in Syria." For his part, Pompeo tweeted "our steadfast partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to regional peace and stability," adding "we continue to stand together in the fight against COVID-19."
