French COVID-19 deaths rise 13, totalling 29,933

PARIS, July 7 (KUNA) -- French COVID-19 deaths increased by 13 on Tuesday to total 29,933 compared to Monday, the Health Ministry announced in a statement.
The latest death toll takes into account 35 deaths in hospital over the past 24 hours adjusted with earlier data that includes non-hospital facilities, Health Authorities remarked.
A statement indicated there were 475 new and confirmed virus cases over the past 24 hours, with total cases now reaching 168,810 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Health Ministry said that the virus situation on mainland France is "stable" but authorities warned about large family or festive gatherings which can provoke clusters. On Tuesday, there were 86 clusters being actively investigated, up seven from Monday's level.
There are 7,594 people still in hospital here with coronavirus, down from 7,850 a day earlier and there are 538 patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU), down from 548 patients the previous day.
Out of 105,152 people admitted with coronavirus since early March, 77,655 have been successfully treated and discharged from hospital.
The statement said that 127 new admissions to hospital with coronavirus took place over the past day, with 21 new critical cases sent to the ICU. (end) jk.hb
