Ambassador Ghassan Al-Zawawi receives the book
KUWAIT, July 7 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan Al-Zawawi on Tuesday received from the center of historic research of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation a copy of the book, "Kuwait in Ottoman Documents," addressed as a gift to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The official Turkish news agency, Anadolu, quoted the center director general Khaled Aran, as saying during the book handover ceremony, held in Turkey, that it includes documents from the Ottoman archive concerning Kuwait during the 1850-1900 period of time.
The documents cover a significant period of the Kuwaiti history in the second half of the 19th century. (end)
