ROME, July 5 (KUNA) -- Deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Italy continued to plummet with just seven fatalities reported on Sunday, down from 21 a day earlier, with the countryآ’s death toll now at 34,861.
Active coronavirus cases have jumped to a total of 14,642 after a dayآ’s increase of 21, 1,019 of whom are receiving medical treatment with 74 people in intensive care, mostly in the northern region of Lombardy, the epicenter of Italyآ’s contagion, said a health ministry statement.
The total number of recoveries in Italy has reached 192,108, while some 241,611 cases have been reported since the outbreak came to light in February. (end)
