European countries update COVID-19 statistics

VIENNA, July 5 (KUNA) -- Health authorities in a number of European nations updated their daily coronavirus figures on Sunday, with Romania reporting 391 new cases while the Czech Republic and Poland announced an additional 121 and 231 infections, respectively.
With 391 infections reported in the last 24 hours, Romaniaآ’s tally of coronavirus cases now stands at 28,973, said a government statement, adding that the number of fatalities has reached 1,1750.
In the Czech Republic, a total of 12,440 cases have now been confirmed after health authorities ramped up testing to clamp down on the spread of the virus, the health ministry said on its official website.
Poland reported 231 new infections in the last day, pushing its tally of cases to 35,950 while some 1,517 people have succumbed to the disease, according to a health ministry statement.
Slovakiaآ’s coronavirus infections surged to 1,764 after 15 new cases and 28 more deaths were detected in the last 24 hours, a health ministry statement revealed, while neighboring Hungary reported nine more infections to increase its tally to 4,183 with 589 deaths. (end) man.nam
