NEW DELHI, July 5 (KUNA) -- Indian authorities said on Sunday that corona virus infections in the country rose to a record 24,850 in a day in addition to 613 deaths during the same period.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that so far 19,268 people succumbed to the deadly pandemic while number of infections jumped to 673,165.
There are 2,44,814 active cases and 4,09,082 people have recovered, the ministry data showed.
Today's spike in number of positive cases came mainly from the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam and Bihar.
The government has asked people, governments and local authorities to take all necessary precautions as the nation entered into the second phase of unlock adding guidelines in the containment zones should be followed strictly. (end)
