S. Korea adds 61 new virus cases, total at 13,091

TOKYO, July 5 (KUNA) -- South Korea reported 61 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday, raising the country's total caseload to 13,091, said Yonhap News Agency Sunday.
There were no additional deaths, keeping the total death toll to 283, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
The number of new cases stayed above 60 for the third consecutive day, with the greater Seoul area reporting 14 new infections.
South Korea, which relaxed nationwide strict social distancing in early May on the back of a flattened virus curve, decided last month to indefinitely apply toughened infection preventive measures in the greater Seoul area due to a continued rise in cluster infections.
Health authorities are vigilant as the latest spread of the virus could lead to a new wave of the pandemic. (end) mk.gta
