4.7 magnitude earthquake jolts India

NEW DELHI, July 3 (KUNA) -- The National Centre for Seismology of India said on Friday that a medium-intensity earthquake jolted Alwar district in Rajasthan tremors of which were felt in the capital New Delhi and neighborhood.
The Press Trust of India said quoting the National Centre for Seismology that the quake with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Alwar district in Rajasthan at 7 PM at a depth of 35 kilometres.
The tremors of the earthquake were felt in the capital New Delhi and other parts of north India. No loss of life or property was reported.
New Delhi and the surrounding region witnessed 20 earthquakes since April two of them were above a magnitude of 4 on the Richter scale. (end) atk.ibi
