French coronavirus deaths rise 44 to 29,065

PARIS, June 4 (KUNA)- The death toll in France from coronavirus rose by 44 on Thursday to reach 29,065, marking another slowing rate for fatalities over past weeks.
The Health Ministry said in a statement that hospitalisations declined again over the past 24 hours, falling to 13,101 from 13,514. The number of critical patients in Intensive Care Units fell to 1,163 from 1,210 on Wednesday.
Hospitals, nonetheless, reported 195 new admissions with coronavirus on Thursday, down from 250 admissions a day earlier.
There were also 555 interventions in emergency rooms or by mobile emergency doctors for infection suspicions, down slightly from the previous day's figure.
Despite the encouraging results on Thursday, the Health Ministry warned that the virus was "still present on the national territory and it remains dangerous," especially for older and more vulnerable people.
Since the beginning of March, 69,976 patients have been treated and discharged by hospitals where 102,283 people have been taken for treatment over that period.
France had 767 new confirmed coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the official total to 152, 444, but this figure does not include all suspected or probable cases in non-hospital facilities and structures.(end) jk.ibi
