Turkey confirms 21 coronavirus deaths, 988 infections

KUWAIT, June 4 (KUNA) -- Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Thursday that 21 people died of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours while 988 persons tested positive for the disease.
Koca was quoted by the Anadolu news agency, monitored in Kuwait, as saying total deaths reached 4,630 while registered cases increased to 167,410.
He added 926 people recovered today to increase recoveries to 131,778.
Koca said there were 602 patients in the intensive care units, of them 265 attached to ventilators.
Laboratories, he added, conducted 54,234 tests today, and over 2.209 million since outbreak of the pandemic in Turkey. (end) rs.ibi
