COVID-19 deaths in India climbs to 6,075

NEW DELHI, June 4 (KUNA) -- Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday that in yet another major increase in the number of COVID-19 related deaths, the nation saw total death toll climbing to 6,075 and the positive cases soaring to 216,919.
The ministry of health said there were 260 new deaths and 9,304 fresh positive cases in the last 24 hours due to the coronavirus while the total number of cured people stood at 104,107.
Maharashtra is considered the worst hit Indian state with 2,587 deaths and 74,860 positive cases.
New Delhi, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are other Indian states severely affected by the deadly virus.
Indian government extended lockdown in containment zones while giving key relaxations in less affected areas. (end) atk.rk
