Coronavirus infections, fatalities continue to spread worldwide

KUWAIT, June 3 (KUNA) -- The numbers of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections and fatalities continued to spread worldwide on Wednesday.
In Oman, the health ministry affirmed 738 new coronavirus infections to reach 15,835 since the outbreak of the virus in the sultanate.
The Omani news agency quoted the ministry as saying that 324 cases related to Omani nationals and 414 to residents, adding that 2,845 people recovered from the bug, while deaths settled at 67.
Meanwhile, in Tunisia, the health ministry announced a new death and infection during the last 24 hours.
The ministry said in a statement, the total number of infections in the country climbed to 1,087 and deaths to 49, while recoveries surged to 965.
In Iran, the health ministry confirmed 3,143 new coronavirus infections during the last hours.
The Ministry's Media Centre Chief, Kianush Jahanpur affirmed that the total number of infections climbed to 160,696.
He added that 70 new death cases were recorded, taking the death toll to 8,012.
In Malaysia, 93 new coronavirus infections were recorded, while deaths settled at 115 for more than one week.
The Director-General of Malaysian Health, Nour Hisham, told a press conference that the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 7,970.
He noted that 67 new people recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,531. (end) Ksj.ayb.ma.aa
