S. Korea reports 35 new virus cases, total at 11,503

TOKYO, June 1 (KUNA) -- South Korea added 35 new cases of the coronavirus on Monday, bringing the nation's total infections to 11,503, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Most of the new infections are tied to a distribution facility in Bucheon, just west of Seoul, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
The death toll increased by one to 271.
Alarmed by the spike in virus cases in recent days, health authorities imposed a tighter social distancing campaign in the densely populated metropolitan area of Seoul and the surrounding region over the next two weeks through June 14. (end) mk.rk
