Sudanese keeps airports closed for two more weeks

KHARTOUM, May 31 (KUNA) -- Sudanese aviation authorities have decided to extend closure of Sudanese airports for two weeks more.
The civil aviation authority, in a statement released on Sunday, said the decision was taken in tandem with precautionary measures that had been declared by the State against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Exemption is applicable to scheduled cargo and humanitarian aid flights, in addition to flights for oil companies, as well as foreigners' repatriation flights.
Sudanese authorities decided, in March, to close airports and land passageways as part of the extraordinary precautions against the pandemic.
Sudan has declared 4,800 infection cases with the coronavirus -- including 262 deaths. (end) mam.rk
