MOSCOW, May 30 (KINA) -- Russian health authorities said on Saturday that 8,952 additional cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) were recorded in the country over the last 24 hours.
Thus, the total number of confirmed infections with the highly contagious bug has spiked to 396,575, the Russian Emergency Center said in a press statement.
The number of fatalities due to the respiratory disease has also shot up by 181 to 4,555, the center added.
Furthermore, a total of 8,212 patients have been cured of the virus, raising the overall count of recoveries to 167,469 since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, it noted. (end)
