MOSCOW, May 28 (KUNA) -- Russian health authorities Thursday reported 174 additional fatalities due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), raising the death toll to 4,142.
Some 8,371 new infections with the deadly virus were also reported over the last 24 hours, bringing the country's overall count of cases up to 379,051, the Russian Emergency Center said in a statement.
A total of 8,785 patients have been cured of the highly contagious disease, taking the total number of already treated people up to 150,993, the center added.
Russian authorities have decided to lessen lockdown measures as of early June as the number of infections is on the wane. (end)
