NEW DELHI, May 27 (KUNA) -- Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday that 170 people died due to COVID-19 and 6,387 positive cases were registered in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health said in the morning update that COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,337 with 170 new deaths and the total number of infected people rose to 151,767 with 6,387 positive cases in one day.
Apart from capital New Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu are among the worst affected states as the pandemic hit 35 Indian states.
India had recently extended lockdown for the fourth time to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country. The lockdown shall continue to remain in force until May 31 with several relaxations in the non-affected areas. (end) atk.mt
