MoH: Two new Covid-19 deaths, infections up 134 cases in Kuwait

KUWAIT, April 17 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced, Friday, two deaths and 134 infections from the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 1,658 and total fatalities to 5 patients.
In a statement, Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that 32 patients are currently in the intensive care unit.
Al-Sanad affirmed that the two death cases are related to a 58 years old Kuwaiti citizen and a 69 years old Iranian resident, adding that both were under medical treatment in the ICU.
Those currently receiving treatment at hospitals reached 1,395 patients, said the spokesperson, adding that 30 individuals have completed quarantine in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, the ministry announced the recovery of 33 new patients, bringing the total to 258 recoveries. (end) mak.aa
