ANKARA, April 10 (KUNA) -- Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said Friday 98 people died as a result of coronavirus to raise fatalities to 1,006, while infections surged to 47,029.
Koca, addressing a press conference, said 4,747 people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours against 2,423 others who recovered from COVID-19.
He said there were still 1,667 patients in the intensive care units.
Turkey told 138,000 people who recently came from abroad to stay in quarantine. (end)
