Belgium: 496 more deaths from coronavirus in Belgium

BRUSSELS, April 10 (KUNA) -- New figures released by the Belgian health authorities Friday show a sharp rise in the number of people in Belgium that have died of COVID-19. The death toll from COVID-19 in Belgium so far stands at 3,019. This is an increase in 496 on the number of COVID-19 deaths confirmed since Thursday.
Up to 1,684 new coronavirus cases were detected, bringing the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in Belgium to 26,667.
In the past 24 hours, 462 patients have been hospitalized increasing the total number of people hospitalized for coronavirus in Belgium to 5,610.
Some 404 people have left the hospital, making the total number in Belgium to 5,568. (end) nk.gta
