US coronavirus death toll hits 15,000

WASHINGTON, April 9 (KUNA) -- The coronavirus death toll in the US surpassed 15,000 Thursday, according to Johns Hopkins University tally.
The tally showed that the deaths reached 15,938 as the confirmed coronavirus cases increased to 451,491 nationwide.
New York remains the hardest hit with 160,038 confirmed cases and 7,067 deaths followed by New Jersey with 51,027 positive cases and 1,590 deaths then Michigan with 20,346 confirmed cases and 959 deaths.
This comes as over 97 percent of people across the nation are under stay at home orders in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus outbreak. (pickup previous) si.bs
