British PM leaves ICU, recovers in ward - spokesperson

LONDON, April 9 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson left the intensive care unit Thursday and was placed in the ward to recover from coronavirus, 10 Downing St. announced.
A spokesperson of Jonhson said the Prime Minister was recovering in the ward of St. Thomas' Hospital and reaffirmed that his spirits were very high.
Britain said earlier total coronavirus deaths surged to 7,978 after the country registered 881 fatalities in the past 24 hours. Confirmed cases were 65,077. (pickup previous) mrn.bs
