Spain's coronavirus inFections reach 152,446

MADRID, April 9 (KUNA) -- Spain announced on Thursday its toll of coronavirus infections rose to 152,446 and death toll to 15,238.
The health ministry said on its website that 5,756 new infection cases, including 683 deaths, were recorded in the past 24 hours, while 52,165 people who suffered from the pandemic were discharged from hospitals.
Madrid remained on top with respect of human losses at the national level, recording 43,877 contaminations, followed by Catalonia, 31,043 and then Castilla di La Mancha, 12,488.
Spain is living its 26th day of emergency including a nationwide curfe and paralysis of major businesses and industries.
Parliament is due, later today, to vote on extending the state of emergency for another 15 day until April 26. (end) hnd.rk
