China declares two coronavirus related deaths

KUWAIT, April 9 (KUNA) -- Chinese authorities announced on Thursday that two persons died due to infection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) raising number of deaths caused by the contagion in the nation to 3,335.
National Health Commission, cited by the Chinese news agency XINHUA, said the two deaths were recorded in the district of Guandong, adding that the whole figure of people infected with the virus amounted to 81,865.
There were no cases in the province of Wuhan, including provincial capital of Hubei, the commission said.
It reported 61 infection cases among travelers who came from abroad, increasing the total number of such cases to 1,103, including 374 who were discharged from hospitals. However, 729 people including 31 in critical condition continued to receive medical treatment.
Number of new suspected cases reached 17 and those in critical condition dropped to 176. Up to 91 persons were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, thus number of recovered people reached 77,370. (end) mab.rk
