ADEN, April 5 (KUNA) -- Five female prisoners were killed and 12 others injured when the Houthi militias attacked the women section of the central prison in the southwestern city of Taez on Sunday, SABA news agency reported.
It quoted Taez Governor Nabil Shamsan as saying initial figures showed the killing of five prisoners and injury of 12 others.
"This heinous terrorist crime" shows how the Houthis continue their hostile approach, he said.
Through their systematic attacks, he said, the houthis were determined to prolonge the conflict in Yemen and thus increase of casualties.
He urged the UN and the ICRC to live up to their responsibilities and stop the Houthis hostilities. (end)
